Border to Border Posse Ride '21 The Long Way Home +1

This trip was wonderful and we lucked out by getting to take the convertible but were looking forward to stretching our legs. We had been limiting our purchases, due to space constraints, and had already planned on riding the rest of the way home, interstate, with the top up. This would allow for the extra souvenirs we may have wanted and found along the way but didn't have space for. The item I found in Texas was an orange flannel blanket that folded up and was water-resistant on the flip side. Even folded up this would have taken up quite a bit of space. Now that space wasn't going to be an issue I wanted to purchase one and couldn't find it. After talking to a few dealers, this item was about 3 years old and was no longer carried. It was from an old vendor and they were surprised I had seen it. That left me feeling awful, that was the one thing I had seen that I really wanted. So it just wasn't meant to be. We packed up the extra shirts we had gotten and hit the road. It was Sunday and I had a list of about 7 dealers we could hit on the way home but were closed.

As we just blindly flew down the interstate we were going to be at the hotel about 4ish. I had planned our stops to be under 500 miles a day for the bikes. Knowing we were taking the car and knowing we were getting really close to Sturgis on the trip home, I was hesitant to make any hotel changes. Seeing a couple of things on road signs I logged into Atlas Obscura on my phone and handed it to Zak and said see anything on the way that might be a fun stop? He found the American Computer & Robotics Museum. Why not, we had the time. True to the name and reviews it did not disappoint!
