Brightened My Day

Yesterday I had such great hopes, I was finally getting my car back after the accident on May 24th. Over 30 days later of expected dates and postponing I was getting it back. I didn't want to rush these guys because I wanted it back in good working condition, boy was it disappointing.

After doing a brief overlook the body looked great, paid the desuctable amd on my way. The desuctable left this sickening feeling due to it wasn't my fault, it was a hit and run and we ended up finding the guy later and turning it over to the cops. Nothing to our knowledge has been done. I was still out a deductable and he is still driving around.

So the trip home I noticed an immediate issue with steering. Turning right was touchy and was like I jerked it, left was stiff and sluggish. Not very happy, but told myself it had been a month since driving it. Then I realized the car I have been driving was my wife's, identical... blood pressure went up a little. Getting out of the area speeds are 25-35 nothing much to feel at the slower speeds. Got onto Van Buren, if you have traveled this road in Little Rock there are plenty of seams and bumps, very noticeable at 35. I started to notice an oddity in the suspension, it wasn't seeming to bounce or recover straight. It was almost like it came up stronger on the left and then the right pushed it back, a very weird feeling. From there I headed towards I-630 South. From getting on at Fair Park and traversing to the left lain to avoid University traffic merging the Freeway dips just after the University overpass. That bounce felt like the car wanted to rollover. Extremely pissed at this point.
We then traveled to an open parking lot parked my wife's Crosstrek next to mine and did a more thorough inspection. Hood has all kinds of dings or chips in the paint, could be argued not part of the crash, whatever. However it doesn't fully align as seamlessly as my wife's. The rear driver door sticks out, it also has a bubble in the paint. At the driver side tail light there is something white in the grooves, it easily wiped out but brought the attention to the rear quarter panel and the chip of paint missing just under the tail light. We returned to the car and I went to roll my window down and the auto up/down doesn't work, but managed to hold it and get the window down with the extra effort one would have to exert. Motioned to my wife you come drive. With every bump and corner my wife took I noticed the car jerk and dive a little to the right, so this wasn't just me.
The drive in this morning just made me madder with every bump until finally making it to work and seeing this. It cracked my up and for now has brightened the morning.
