Border to Border Posse Ride '21 Day 10 -11

Today we head further north and on the agenda for stops Glacier National Park. This one I did manage to get our ticket on the 48 hr sale. With the spotty cell coverage navigating had been interesting. Most days it would pick up enough to get us by. I brought an atlas, mainly because it was a Harley atlas with all the Harley stores. But it came in handy! Zak learned some fun things too. Had never had a purpose or need for a map, he had never looked at one truly needing to get somewhere. Our issue was the road Google was turning us down, Scenic Byway, was a 24-mile dirt road. Having gotten off-road at the White Sands and being vibrated to death idling in first gear, we were not willing to test this road. Not wanting to backtrack we flipped around and continued on hoping the signal would pick up and correct our path. After 20-30 minutes of driving, we figured we might want to check and make sure we were going in the right direction. Telling Zak what towns we had just gone through and what was coming up he was able to find the road we were on and map us out a route to return back on our planned route, with a minor exception. Upon getting to Glacier National Park, we noticed a couple of bikes we recognized but they were going the other way. Consulting the map again, we noticed we had entered the National Park on the westside rather than the East. This meant we get to see it all again :) ! So not only did we get to take the Going to the Sun Road, we turned around and did it again!. Very cool road and would not recommend having a Humvee. The little Solstice felt rather large on this road, like any minute I could scrap the sidewalls or oncoming traffic.

The touring bus

The last official day of the Border to Border Posse Ride is upon us. We will head north and stop just a couple feet away from the border of Canada.

Got another T-Shirt from the ride.

And this is the day we met the owner of the bag, which I talked about in the previous post. Prior to this meeting, Zak's raffle ticket was called for the prize of $250. This was a cool thing to win. Some of the other prizes were signed banners, that were done at every meetup, an engraved knife, hats, and shirts. Zak and I were on the same page thinking how cool it would have been to receive a banner or knife to remember this awesome trip, but being that we were in a car made us hope that we weren't selected. So the $250 was great and after meeting the owner of the bag, felt a little like karma. Tomorrow is the dash for the house from Montana.
